Ingredients

- butter, softened
- 1 tsp
- vanilla bean paste
- 1 1/4 cups
- caster sugar
- 3
- eggs
- 1 cup
- plain flour
- 1/2 cup
- self-raising flour
- 1/4 tsp
- bicarbonate of soda
- 1/2 cup
- milk
Directions
- Preheat oven to 160 degrees. Grease a deep 20cm round cake pan.
- Beat ingredients in a medium bowl on low speed with an electric mixer until just combined.
- Beat on medium speed until mixture is smooth and changed to a paler colour. Pour mixture into prepared pan.
- Bake cake in oven for 1 1/4 hours. Stand cake for 5 minutes then turn onto a wire rack. Turn cake top-side up to cool.
- Dust cake with sifted icing sugar.
