Ingredients

- 1/2 cup
- cocoa powder

- baking soda

- egg yolk, large
- 5 tbsp
- sugar
- 1/4 cup
- buttermilk
- 1 tbsp
- canola oil
- 1 tsp
- vanilla
- 1/2 tbsp
- food coloring
For the filling
- 2 tbsp
- cream cheese
- 1/2 cup
- icing sugar
- 1/2 tbsp
- milk
Directions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Generously coat donut pan with baking spray. Set aside.
- In a medium bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
- In another bowl, mix together the sugar, buttermilk, and egg. Stir in the canola oil, vanilla, vinegar, and food coloring.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until combined.
- Use a spoon to fill each donut mold 3/4 of the way full. Bake for 6-8 minutes.
- Allow to cool, then drizzle with cream cheese frosting.
- To make the cream cheese frosting, in a small bowl and using an electric mixer, beat cream cheese until smooth. Add in the powdered sugar and milk and beat until smooth. Fill a pastry bag with the corner snipped to drizzle the frosting or spread with a knife.
